Hope everyone had a nice weekend. The weather here was gorgeous. Saturday the sky was blue and filled with big puffy white clouds. Sunday ushered in some warmer and humid weather. I spent yesterday working outside catching up on the weeds and watering my flowers. It's been terribly dry here as of late. It certainly feels like summer, even though it's Spring. I've got a layout to share that was inspired by the April challenge at
Once Upon A Sketch. A gorgeous sketch by Nadia and a theme of home. When I first saw the theme I found myself digging through pictures of me and the kids and then was drawn to pictures of something specific to my home. Then I came across a picture of my mom and dad in front of their first home. The place where it all began. For them as husband and wife and eventually for me and my siblings as a family. I thought the picture was quite fitting for the challenge. Click on the layout to get a better look at it!
Here is Nadia's beautiful sketch:
I used papers and embellishments from October Afternoon's beautiful Farmhouse collection. I love the colors in this collection!
This sticker "bliss" has a special meaning to me since it was the family name.
Found all kinds of goodies in my stash to use!
A touch of lace and buttons.
I even did a little embossing!
My hidden journaling tag which reads:
It all began with a young couple, Frank and Joan Bliss, newly married, moving into their new home at 5911 Vandergrift Avenue in 1953. Along the way three children were born Donny, Debbie and Barbara. This home is where Mom and Dad’s life began as husband and wife and with that the life of myself and my siblings.
Thanks for stopping by!
